Yes, non-fiction can be cozy too…

Winter may not be the favorite season of many people, but it is the ideal season to catch up on reading. When it gets dark early and it’s too cold to spend much time outside, you can take the opportunity to light a candle, make a hot mug of tea or cocoa, and snuggle up with a blanket and your TBR pile.

The idea of winter being the time for storytelling is a familiar one. Our ancestors would gather together around the fire on winter evenings when it got too dark to work and tell stories in the era before electric lighting.

While there are plenty of cozy fictional tales to lose ourselves in during the winter, non-fiction can be a great tool for expanding your knowledge and entertaining your brain at the same time.

Over the past year, I’ve been trying to read more non-fiction (as a diehard fiction addict). These are 4 nonfiction reads that I’ve found give me cozy vibes with a bit of history, nostalgia, and nature.

Feel free to share your cozy nonfiction recommendations in the comments because I always need more options. My picks are pretty US and UK-centric simply because my preferred language to read in is English, but I would love to find international works in translation that also check the cozy (or cosy) box.
